The ABNA (Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award) results for Round 2 have been announced. Readers of this blog may remember that last month I was excited to announce that my novel 'Red Sky' passed through Round 1. Sadly it did not pass Round 2. It is of course, very disappointing, but as part of the 'award' … Continue reading Writing Lessons

Blog of the Year 2012 Award
Well I have been a little slack over the christmas/new year period. I rushed out a post on xmas day, as many of you would have seen, but have done very little else, so it was high time for me to get back into the swing of things! In December I received a Blog of … Continue reading Blog of the Year 2012 Award
Season’s Greetings!
Merry Christmas, Happy Solstice, etc etc to all my readers! Hope you all have the opportunity to gather with loved ones and celebrate. Inspiration via Nanowrimo – and our final winner!!
One of the things I absolutely love about National Novel Writing Month, are the Pep Talks. Emails from published authors, encouraging all the writers out there to keep on writing. All of us who worry … Continue reading Inspiration via Nanowrimo – and our final winner!!

I have to make an … Continue reading Six Sentence Sunday #6 – Nano
Counting down the minutes till Nano…
After a hectic week that had me fly over to the other side of the country for a funeral, I'm home again, just in time for Nano! My story this year is partly planned, a sequel to the novella I wrote during Camp Nano in June, a novella I have literally this minute submitted to … Continue reading Counting down the minutes till Nano…
Another successful Camp!
YAY! Last day of camp and I made it! 60,000 words! Woo hoo! It was a struggle, this time but I'm here at the end of it! YAY! The story is so jumbled and confused and all over the place. I think the basic idea is good, but I suspect if I work … Continue reading Another successful Camp!
The Unfinished Journals of Elizabeth D – read-a-long #3
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Nichole Bernier does such a great job of digging into the fears we all have, of showing the fears and other emotions that affect how we act/react in daily life. Overall I think the message of this book is one of how similar we all really are underneath. We … Continue reading The Unfinished Journals of Elizabeth D – read-a-long #3
