I’m still struggling with the fact I’m even writing a summary for June already – surely I’ve got a few weeks to go before I need to do this??
June absolutely flew by, but my biggest news of the month was the publication of my short story ‘Klaria’s Battle’, in the ‘CANCER: Speculative Fiction inspired by the Zodiac‘ anthology. (Isn’t that cover brilliant!)
During June I took part in the Emerging Writers Festival, which was completely online for the first time ever! It was so good. My favourite sessions were the Microfiction Clinic, and the Hachette: Debut Authors session, with three authors whose work was discovered through the Richell Prize (two have won the prize in the past, the third was shortlisted). I also entered the Microfiction competition every day (24 hours to write a story less than 500 words to a prompt) – and though I didn’t win I do have some great new stories to work on.
Looking forward to seeing what July brings!
