Heather Ewings lives and writes on the land of the Pallittorre people of Northern Tasmania. She is a Tasmanian author with a MA in Modern History and a particular interest in Tasmanian colonial times, as well as a fascination with myth and folklore.

Heather’s short stories have been published in many different places around the web, including Lite Lit One, Asymmetry Fiction, and narratorInternational, and have been included in the anthologies: ‘Stories of Hope’, and Japanese Fantasy Drabbles’.

Heather is a chocoholic, book-worm, and would-be-hermit, who writes in-between homeschooling her three children, making beeswax candles, gardening, and attempting to keep the house is some vague semblance of order (and failing, because lets face it, that’s precious writing time, right there).

Heather can be found on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HeatherEwingsAuthor and Twitter @heather_ewings1. If you’d like to be kept up to date on Heather’s news you can sign up for a very irregular newsletter here!

If you’d like to support Heather in her attempts to bring her writing to the world, head over to  https://www.patreon.com/HeatherEwings , where you can read some of her previously published works (many of which are no longer available online), and get the odd behind-the-scenes snippet, including early drafts of stories and the odd excited post as another piece of writerly-synchronicity falls into place. 😉

    1. I can – but I have hardly touched it since the kids were born. I really should practice more often. That’s not a bad idea for a story either 🙂

  1. I love harp music. One of my favourite writing CD’s is by Loreena McKennitt. She plays the harp in most of her songs. The CD has a magical, Celtic quality to it. Love it! Never fails to get the writing brain moving.

    1. Hi Laverne – I love Loreena McKennitt too – she was the reason I wanted to play in the first place! 🙂 Which Album do you have? One of my favourite pieces of hers is La Serenissima, and I actually have the sheet music to play it. Beautiful!! 🙂

      1. Oh my goodness! You have the sheet music! How cool! I’ve ripped the album “The Visit” to my computer and have that along with the rock band, Muse on random – oh – and the soundtrack from the movie, “City of Angels”. Wonderful music that gives a different feel and helps get my muse going! I did have another album of Loreena’s but have lost it ad can’t remember what it was called. All I do know is that I’m still in mourning for it! Will have to go and buy more of hers.

      2. I love The Visit! My favourite though is Book of Secrets – it has Dante’s Prayer, and The Highwayman, which are my other favourites of hers. I also have ‘An Ancient Muse’ which has some good music on it too.
